Uggghhhhh…

I have to admit something…

I’m really tired of posting from anywhere other than my own home.

But, here I am. The last post from Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Although it’s been a lonely 6 weeks I’ve gotten some great training, made some new AF friends and even ran into some old ones (by “old” I mean I met them 5 months ago in my first AF training. ha!). I have learned so much about being a labor & delivery nurse (but still have plenty of experience to gain!). I’ve helped soon-to-be-mommies labor through frustration, anxiety, fear, husbands deployments and pain to deliver new, healthy babies (fortunately, all mine were healthy!) AND I actually delivered a baby! It was so exciting and a little anxiety provoking. The couple was so sweet and the baby boy was beautiful. That was definitely a highlight!

Other highlights? A visit from my bff Carly, a visit from my wonderful husband, and some gluttonous outings to take in some of San An’s finest foods.

Stacy has procured us a home on Keesler AFB and is moving our truckload of stuff down TOMORROW!! Yay! He’s having to take care of all of the packing and moving himself (with the help of some great family and friends!) and I appreciate him so much for what he is doing for us. I know he’s excited to start a new chapter and of course, be back with me! Moving is never fun but I’m ready to unpack, get settled and actually get to use all our wonderful wedding gifts!

So, just two more night shifts and a meeting with our program coordinator stand between me and gettin’ the heck out of here. Stacy is headed out here to make the trip back with me and we’ll be making a stop in Houston for an Astros game and Galveston for a little time on the beach. We’ll be in Biloxi on Friday and I’ll probably stay up all night unpacking and visiting with all my old stuff (and Stacy too!!).

Alright, my next post will be from the crappy beaches of Biloxi 😀

I love to read your posts – keep ’em coming! So proud of your accomplishments, now get in touch with your domestic goddess and turn your house into a home! And….enjoy the journey 🙂

A “crappy” beach is better than no beach it all. Life is a beach, then you fry. Mwahaha
